FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Award-Winning EVERGREEN Scheduled for National Release Sept. 10

Filmmaker Teams with AMC Theatres® for Exhibition of Independent Feature Film

(Los Angeles, CA) (8/24/04) – The independent feature film EVERGREEN, a humorous and poignant exploration of family, love, dignity and class division, will premiere September 10 at 115 AMC theatres in 27 major markets in the U.S.

Written and directed by promising newcomer Enid Zentelis and screened at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, EVERGREEN tells the story of Henri, a teenage girl who lives in poverty with her mother, but is drawn to the world on the other side of the tracks. Shot on location in Everett, Washington, the cast features Mary Kay Place, Cara Seymour, Bruce Davison and Addie Land as Henri.

AMC will present the film digitally, using AMC's proprietary Digital Theatre Distribution System (DTDS). The DTDS system eliminates the need for the production and distribution of 35mm film prints, a costly process which the producers of independent films often cannot afford. The digital file of the movie will be distributed to each AMC theatre via satellite.

The producers of the independent feature film EVERGREEN and AMC Theatres developed a unique partnership in order to launch the film nationwide on AMC's top-performing screens. The partnership marks an exciting direct collaboration between an independent filmmaker and a leading nationwide exhibitor to bring an independent film to the marketplace.

“AMC's digital release of EVERGREEN allows us to bring a very special film to our audiences,” said AMC Film Group Chairman Dick Walsh. “This engagement also showcases the capability of AMC's DTDS system to bring quality programming directly to our theatres on a national basis.”

“It is incredibly meaningful to me that this collaboration started as a passionate conversation about the film with Mr. Walsh and others after Sundance,” said Zentelis. “This is the kind of distribution I had dreamed about for this movie.”

In addition to Sundance, EVERGREEN was selected for screening at several film festivals, including the Seattle International Film Festival, the Philadelphia International Film Festival, the Sao Paulo International Film Fest, the Stockholm International Film Festival, the Atlanta Film Festival, and the Sonoma Valley Film Festival, where Zentelis was named Best Director, Narrative Feature.

Developed with the assistance of the Sundance Institute, EVERGREEN was produced by Norma Jean Straw (Straw Stories), Zentelis (Granny Was An Outlaw Prods.), Yael Melamede and Eva Kolodner (Salty Features). UTA's Jeremy Barber, who represents the film, as well as Zentelis and Land, helped develop the agreement between AMC and EVERGREEN Films, Inc., and Ben Feldman of Epstein, Levinsohn, Bodine, Hurwitz & Weinstein provided legal services to EVERGREEN Films, Inc.
